How Is ELREXFIO Given?

What to expect when starting ELREXFIO

If you and your doctor are considering or have chosen ELREXFIO as your next multiple myeloma therapy, it’s important to learn about certain aspects of this treatment, such as how it’s given and the dosing schedule.

ELREXFIO is a ready-to-use monotherapy.

A monotherapy is a single therapy. This means that it is not given in combination with other multiple myeloma therapies. ELREXFIO will be given to you by a member of your healthcare team as a quick subcutaneous injection into your stomach, thigh, or other area of your body.

1

“Step-up” dosing schedule

During your first week of treatment, you will begin with 2 “step-up” doses of ELREXFIO. Building up to a full dose will help your body’s immune system adjust to ELREXFIO. You should be hospitalized while receiving these first 2 doses due to the risk of cytokine release syndrome (CRS). Your first full treatment dose will be your third dose, which is usually given on day 8 of treatment.

2

Weekly dosing

After completing the “step-up dosing schedule,” you will likely begin weekly treatment with ELREXFIO at your doctor’s office or another outpatient setting. To help you through this transition, your dedicated Patient Access Navigator can provide support such as appointment confirmations, logistics, and assistance with transportation and lodging.

Ongoing treatment doses

As you continue treatment, your doctor will evaluate your progress and decide whether you can switch to:

  • An every 2 week dosing schedule after achieving a partial response or better (for 2 months) after 6 months of treatment
  • A once monthly (every 4 weeks) dosing schedule after maintaining a response on every other week dosing for 6 months

Typical ELREXFIO dosing schedule

“Step-up” dosing schedule

  • Before each step-up dose and the first full treatment dose of ELREXFIO, you will receive medicines to help reduce your risk of cytokine release syndrome (CRS), a serious side effect
  • Your healthcare team will monitor you for symptoms of CRS and neurologic problems

Ongoing dosing schedule

  • Following the step-up dosing schedule, ELREXFIO is given once weekly
  • Your doctor will decide the time between your doses and how long you will receive treatment with ELREXFIO:
    • After 6 months of treatment, if you have had a partial response or better for at least 2 months, an every other week dosing schedule could be right for you
    • After maintaining a response on an every other week dosing schedule for 6 months, a once monthly dosing schedule (every 4 weeks) could be right for you
